The Baskin School of Engineering (BSOE) is accepting nominations for this year’s student graduation celebration speakers. Speaking at the graduation celebration is an honor and opportunity to address the audience of family, faculty, friends, and fellow graduates.

You can nominate yourself or another graduating student.  Nominees should be in good academic standing and on track to graduate by no later than the end of fall quarter 2017.  The deadline to nominate yourself or another graduating student is March 24, 2017.

Nominees will then be invited to submit a speech to the Graduation Committee.

When drafting a speech, consider the following:

  1. Your speech should be no longer than five minutes (between 750-1000 words).
  2. Your speech may reflect your experiences as a student at the Baskin School of Engineering.  The speech should not sound too self-focused; please frame your experiences so that other students can relate to them.
  3. The speeches will be evaluated based on content and writing quality.
